Leadership
Ford Khorsandian, President
Ford Khorsandian founded U.S.-based TPR International Inc. in 1995 to provide information searching for scientific research and intellectual property, as well as the specialist information searching needs of the pharma and biotech communities throughout all stages of a drug’s development.
He has long been a dominant figure in the information world. His early career in scientific literature information led him to become Vice President of Derwent North America (later to become Thomson Reuters), and he moved on to become an International Director of Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS). Through forging enduring ties with leading information professionals worldwide, he went on to establish the Pharma-Bio-Med service by building a capable team of world-class literature searchers garnered from within the highly-regulated and competitive worlds of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices.
Mr. Khorsandian’s dynamism and passion for literature searching has led him to hold prominent positions on multiple search advisory boards. He is also founder of the International Patent Information (IPI) Award, as well as the Pharma-Bio-Med Institute and conferences, which have attracted information professional attendees from the world’s top pharma and bio companies such as Abbott, Eli Lilly, GSK, and Pfizer, covering the spectrum of literature information needs from medical information, medical affairs and regulatory, to knowledge management and competitive intelligence.
Trudi Jones, Vice President
Pharma-Bio-Med and TPR co-founder, Trudi Jones, steers the firm’s mission to provide the most professional, intelligent and effective literature searches in all aspects of the firm’s operation, ensuring a deep understanding of the latest databases, tools, techniques and AI capabilities for optimum accuracy and efficiency, all tailored to each client’s specific objectives.
She obtained a Chemistry degree from Kings College, London, and started her career at Derwent, (later to become Thomson Reuters) in Product Development. Here she worked on the Derwent Drug File online database featuring worldwide biomedical and other literature from learned medical journals covering pharmacology, adverse effects, biochemistry and beyond. Her work also included launching an online database of pharmaceutical compounds featuring chemical structures and therapeutic uses. Subsequently, she became responsible for the marketing of Derwent’s scientific and patent literature services worldwide.
Along with Ford Khorsandian, Trudi jointly founded both the International Patent Information (IPI) Institute and the Pharma-Bio-Med Institute for the continuing education of information professional searchers in each arena. As a result, the company has taken center stage for more than a decade in providing professional development conferences and thought leadership in both Intellectual Property (covering all technologies) and Scientific Literature (covering all aspects of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical devices industries).
Our Story
Our principal founders honed their skills in the scientific information community. After gaining a wealth of knowledge they formed TPR International and Pharma-Bio-Med Literature Search Services; best-practices teams of professional search experts of the highest degree.
From the beginning, our search strategy has stressed the use of the latest tools, technologies, and techniques – a vision supported through the establishment by the founders of two of the most authoritative industry conferences for the information profession, attended by top pharma and biotech information professional executives from the world’s foremost corporations.
Today – and tens of thousands of successful search projects later – we’re known for our exceptional search capabilities. It’s a direct result of our diversity and depth of service, combined with our passion to go that extra mile to find critical information for our clients.
The Pharma-Bio-Med difference is the Pharma-Bio-Med people and the fact that we care about delivering meaningful results that get to the heart of the search question.
